GHHC @ Kids kingdom
God’s Hygiene Help Center (GHHC) was invited to speak to the Latchkey children at Kids Kingdom on Oakland Park Avenue. Kids Kingdom has a wonderful program of afterschool supervision, homework help, and activities all infused with teaching and modeling respect and responsibility.
GHHC shared with 35 children that one of our programs is to support students to be successful in school. We also shared Tammy’s story, as one who did not have the advantage of an education, and some of her struggles as a result.
We told them about Jesus and His desire to help them make the right choices if they would seek and ask Him into their lives.
A string backpack filled with a month’s supply of all the hygiene essentials needed to stay in school were distributed to each child. A parents’ flyer with information on accessing GHHC was also handed out. GHHC’s commitment is that no child should skip or drop out of school due to embarasment about lack of hygiene.
We were impressed to observe the attention, courtesy, and curiosity of the students. What a blessing to see students in the Linden community who are on a path to becoming respectful independent adults.
Thank you Kids Kingdom for the work you are doing!
