SERVING SATURDAY
On Saturday, March 26, fourteen middle school students and seven adults from Upper Arlington Lutheran Church (UALC) volunteered at God’s Hygiene Help Center (GHHC). The group listened to a bit of Tammy’s life story and how she GHHC began, and the group learned about the various projects at the Center. Students then were divided into 4 groups and each group rotated through the various preparation stations for four of GHHC’s projects.
1) MONTHLY CLIENT ORDERS – Cleaning buckets, lining them with plastic bags, and placing The Daily Bread devotions into each. GHHC receives the plastic buckets from a local business for repurposing and the buckets are used to deliver clients with their selected choice of hygiene, personal, or cleaning products.

2) FRESH START BASKETS – Selecting and packing laundry baskets with hygiene, cleaning, kitchen, and personal products. The baskets are given to men and women released from prison from the Kindway/EMBARK program. GHHC also provides baskets to community members who are making a new start in life following rehabilitation, through legal immigration, or who have endured unforeseen life changes.

3) PURSES OF LOVE – Filling donated gently, used purses or bags with sample-size hygiene products, socks, and a booklet with The Gospel of John and the Book of Romans. The students also wrote a Christian note of encouragement for each purse. The purses are handed out to the homeless and women of the street.

4) STUDENT HYGIENE BAGS – Filling drawstring sack backpack with 12 different hygiene products and school-related items; and including a personalized heartfelt written note of encouragement. GHHC is frequently asked to speak with students in the local Linden Community schools that the Center serves. Within the week GHHC will be speaking at the Medina Middle School and the Student Hygiene Bags will be given to students at the end of the talk.

God’s Hygiene Help Center was blessed and thankful to have this wonderful group of young people and adults from UALC serving and ministering to the Linden community in this way.
